Building AI skills for humanitarian and development professionals

Artificial Intelligence is transforming humanitarian and development work by improving how professionals analyse information, design programmes, generate evidence, communicate results and make decisions. HUMCAP AI Academy helps practitioners integrate AI into their daily professional workflows responsibly and effectively. Our courses focus on practical humanitarian applications rather than technology alone, combining sector expertise with AI-supported methods that improve quality, efficiency and professional judgement.

The Foundation Series: your starting point for working with AI
The Foundation Series consists of four complementary courses that follow the humanitarian programme cycle, from understanding AI, to designing proposals, generating evidence and transforming programme information into communication and knowledge products.

Understanding and Applying AI Across Humanitarian Work
This introductory course provides humanitarian professionals with a practical understanding of how Artificial Intelligence is changing the way organizations work. Rather than focusing on technology alone, the course introduces a practical methodology for selecting, using and validating AI outputs responsibly. By the end of the course, participants will understand where AI adds value, where human judgement remains essential and how to use AI confidently across programme management, grants, MEAL, communications and organizational support functions.
